(No seriously it was Child’s Mind, Dethwarrent, City Mouse and Sass Dragons – I’m just fucking with you)
One of the big reasons I moved myself to Chicago was because of the music scene here. I’m spoilt, I grew up in London and had all the bands and all the music on my doorstep. When I decided to leave it was important to me to be somewhere where I could still have all that and the Chicago Punk Scene does not disappoint. It’s on night’s like we had last night that you realise not only is the Punk Scene here fantastic in terms of bands but also in terms of people. Most people you will meet here are friendly, welcoming and very fun to be around. Lots of those people were at that show last night and the atmosphere was perfect.
There’s something satisfying about going to a show like last night, where all the bands are brilliant, the crowd is super nice and the venue feels like a second home. You feel like you’re in a nice little bubble where nothing can go wrong, and honestly in this day and age if you can find something that makes you feel awesome and safe and happy then you should hold on to it tight.
Anyway, enough of me being an Emo Twat. Here are some photos I took last night. NOTE: My flashgun ran out of battery during City Mouse and was only sporadically working during Sass Dragons. I’m an idiot who should pack more gear.
GO AND LISTEN TO SOME MUSIC YOU BIG WEENIES:
